Become a member.
Members decide what ICVI does. They approve the annual plan and the accounts, admit new members, and elect the people who run the organisation.
Membership
Three categories of member.
Founder and adherent members vote and may be elected. Honorary members advise but do not vote.

What effective members can expect, and what they owe.
Rights and obligations run together: the members who vote are the same members who commit to take part and to pay the annual fee.
Rights
- Vote and stand for election within the organisation
- Attend and participate in meetings to which they are convened
- Take part in the activities of the organisation
- Be kept informed of all the organisation's activities
Obligations
- Commit to participate in the activities of the organisation
- Attend the General Assemblies with voting powers
- Pay the membership fee determined by the General Assembly
- Respect the constitution and the internal rules and regulations

How to apply.
Write to the President, and the General Assembly decides. The steps below show how.
Submit your application
Tell us who you are, where you are based and why you want to contribute to ICVI's work. Applications are addressed in writing to the President of the Executive Organ.
Executive Organ review
The Executive Organ reviews the application and prepares it for the General Assembly, the organisation's supreme organ.
General Assembly decision
The General Assembly decides on the admission of members. You are notified of the outcome in writing.
Welcome as an effective member
Approved adherent members join the effective membership, with the right to vote, to be elected and to shape the organisation's direction.
Only adherent membership is open to public application. The membership fee is set by the General Assembly and can change by resolution.
Leaving
How membership ends.
- Death
- Voluntary resignation
- Exclusion
- Dissolution of the organisation
Resigning is a letter to the President. Exclusion requires a two-thirds decision of the General Assembly, and is reserved for members no longer meeting their obligations.
